Chronicle of one man’s struggle to survive in a Zombie apocalypse
SHTF The Series Zombie Apocalypse Volume 1 edition by Sirus Thompson Literature Fiction eBooks
This story needed a better editor/proof reader. There are sentence structure issues, grammar problems and spelling errors. Dialogue is left in paragraphs, rather than on a separate, indented line. That said, I applaud the author's efforts. It read like a gritty, realistic response to a SHTF zombie apocalypse scenario. The story did feel rushed to me. Characterization was not allowed to develop enough throughout the story. However, it was a great attempt.

SHTF The Series Zombie Apocalypse Volume 1 edition by Sirus Thompson Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This storyline is a believable response to a zombie apocalypse by a few regular guys. The characters are well developed and their plans and actions are well thought out for the situation. The inherent vulnerability they experienced at their jobs when ugly all started hit close to home with me. This book was a quick read, and I look forward to the next installment.
I really loved how this book started, I really did!

It starts out with two guys who could be just about anyone working security at a hospital on a late night shift. They are likeable and good at their jobs and it's easy to get invested in these characters. Once the bite victims start coming in there is a lot of violence that starts happening as the virus starts spreading through the bites of the infected.
Now it's really refreshing to see how these characters ended up trying to help other people, like the unconscious cop, the trapped paramedic and the patients in the E.R., etc. Where the book took a dive for me was when they left and went to the farm and time just seemed to rush past and suddenly it's like two months later and they are under attack by bandits. This to me said that the author didn't have anything he wanted to put in those two months of time, and that to me is lazy writing.

There are spacing issues in this book, and the author needs to break up the story into paragraphs. Also there are spelling mistakes and words missing in sentences that could have been caught by a proofreader or even just a second set of eyes. This could have been really good with a little polishing and a little more fleshing out of the second half of the story. All in all it wasn't horrible and the author does have potential.
Check it out.
